About Victoria

Victoria Hofferson (originally Viktorie Kocourkova) was born in the town of Kostelec, Czech Republic in 1994. Although she is a young trainer, she has put in thousands of hours working with horses and studying equine physiology and ethology.
Having started riding in classical English style at the age of seven, Victoria went through various riding styles in her early stages. She started working with horses at liberty when she was twelve years old, as she started discovering a different kind of relationship with horses. She also had the opportunity to train with honourable trainers, became a FEI rider and competed in show jumping, eventing and western riding.
During her studies at High School of Veterinary and Agriculture, she became more interested in dressage, specifically academic dressage and how to combine it with natural horsemanship and bridleless riding. She graduated in 2013 and then travelled around the USA, where she studied the work of famous American horsemen and worked with horses herself. She is currently in the UK and available for clinics and private lessons as well as taking horses in her training.

Education

High School of Veterinary and Agriculture of which the studies focus on professional veterinary subjects (Laboratory Technology, Pharmacology, Microbiology and Parasitology, Animal Reproduction, Breeding and Genetics, Anatomy and Physiology, Surgery and Orthopedics, Animal Diseases, Pathology, Animal Ethology, Animal nutrition and dietetics, Hygiene and Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology and Ecology), economic and social subjects (Information Technology, Economics, Accounting, Finance and Taxes, Marketing, Management, Law, Czech Language and Literature, English Language, Latin basics, Civics, Psychology, History, Mathematics, Physics), Horseback riding and theory, Hipporehabilitation, Canistherapy and Kynogy, Insemination and embryotransfer courses.

Training and competing

As she had the opportunity to train with honourable show jumping trainers, such as Jiri Skrivan (has won several regional SJ GP and in 2003 was ranked 4th best rider of the Czech republic) and Tereza Vesela (5th place in Czech Junior SJ championship), as a 14-year-old she became a FEI rider (International Federation for Equestrian Sports) and competed with her trainers’ horses – Rarasek and Amicus-K (on whose back sat several famous riders and competed in eventing all around Europe), but later had to give up, because of impacts of previous injuries.

She then continued competing with some other horses and a horse of her own, an Arabian gelding (born in ’98) called Lion le Roi. He never was, however, a sport horse, so they only took part in a few competitions (eventing and show jumping) and they performed at several shows around the Czech Republic.
